It's been really helpful with my IBS and also fairly helpful with fibro pain. Has anyone else tried it?

1. I haven't, but I've heard good things about it for diabetes |

It may make it on the list, one of these years, of things I try...

I wish my experience was as positive as yours... not so much.
Just discontinued treatment after a slew of problems occurred - different ones usually after some of the treatments (muscle cramping, uncontrollable sobbing to the point of almost losing my voice as I voicelessly strained to not scream while sobbing)
A couple of the sessions did relieve my pain- almost completely. However, I'm afraid to try it again- the negative effects were too frequent and too unpleasant to ever think about going back for more acupuncture.

3. I have for a couple things. Results varied. Practitioner varied |

Acupuncture is one of those things that the outcome can really depend on the acupuncturist you have. Some are good, some not so good. Some do spot treatments, some general tuneups, some of this, some of that. The type can vary as can the person. 1 person helped get me back up and going after a thing, another did not do much except forget to take all the needles out.

4. Yes, and I've had mixed results. |
|
Good results for back and neck pain from car accident. Not so much from pain from migraines.
I've also found that it has been helpful with relaxation since my cancer diagnosis. I've recently begun a qigong practice and since learning more about qi and its flow, I've been thinking more about getting some more acupuncture treatment again. :)

5. afaik, no properly conducted trials of acupuncture |
|
have shown any effect, even tests for things that anecdotal evidence appears to support. things like smoking cessation and headaches. placebos are powerful things. show me a good double blind test, and i will believe. till then, i would rather see the witchdoctor.
