"kid glove treatment" from non- ill folks: Demoralizing? Helpful? What do you think? |
|
I'm asking this as a serious question. I've had a couple of chronic illnesses flare in the past several months. My coworkers treat me respectfully (I thought) but... as I found out today, don't think of me as completely reliable. Anyone else experience this? If so- what did you do to make people realize that the kid gloves were overkill, or that you could do whatever was thrown at you, despite the adversity in your life?
Thanks in advance for any and all answers. I'm genuinely stumped, and getting to feel like I'm sick of being treated differently... but at times, I need the different accomidations- less and less as the days go by. What have you done? What would you Like to do if you had the freedom? Do you feel like you're in this situation at times also?

i have run into it, even as a volunteer. and although it is kind of annoying, because it reminds me that i might just be pretty worthless on any given day, i have to get a grip on the fact that i might just be pretty worthless on any given day.
