I used to have a couple of people who came to the library who had that condition. They had magnifying glasses to help them.
At one point, I found a catalog with devices for people with low vision. One of the products they liked was a very strong light for reading.
I don't know the name or origin of the catalog any more. Maybe you can look around on the net and find it.
Or, you can subscribe to a large print publication for her. If she doesn't like to read, I am out of ideas.
