1. Sending all good thoughts, prayers, wishes your way. |
|
May you have very good news.
On a practical level, do you have someone lined up to take you home after the procedure?

i have one coming up in a couple weeks. the last one found a precancerous polyp. the prep is the worst part. what are you using? my advice- do as close to a clear liquids diet for the 24 hours before as you can stand. the less there is in there, the easier your prep is.

4. If You Didn't Have Problems With Your Endoscopy, This will Be ... OK |
|
I was going to say "fine," except the prep kinda sucks. If the Versed used for your endoscopy worked, you'll have the same experience with your colonoscopy. Most people say that they don't even remember the procedure when it's done under Versed.
Hope it goes well!

5. Thanks for the warm wishes, everyone. |

The test came out fine (found some "Grade 1 Internal Hemmorhoids" (not sure what "Grade 1" means)), but other than that, everything looked "normal" according to the results.
Only problems I really had was w/ the doctor's staff. I wound up writing a 2-page letter and giving it to the doctor before the exam, explaining the problems I encountered (highlights include sloppy, incomplete instructions; receptionist...not a nurse I later found out...instructing me that it was OK to drink liquids up until an hour before my exam (fortunately, I called the endoscopy center I was to report to and talked to a nurse who told me this information was wrong); and an extremely rude and impatient on-call doctor I needed to talk to this weekend who said, "Make it quick. I have rounds to do.").
Btw, my doctor looks like Howard Dean. I told him that, and he said he'd heard that before. :)

6. Glad you came through it without bad news. |
|
The procedure is not my idea of a good time, but at least they didn't tell you bad news, which is something. Sorry you had problems with the staff, though.
On the other hand, lucky you to have the Howard Dean look-alike. My gastroenterologist is nice looking, too.
