Are there any lung cancer success stories here? I have a friend |
|
who's been fighting it for a few years, seemed to be cured! another tumor was found, he's discouraged. I would love to hear anything positive to pass on, as he's talking about surgically removing his lung so he doesn't have to continue the horrific chemo treatments.

1. My dad ended up having his lung removed |

due to lung cancer. That was in 1983. He is still alive and well, barring the aches and pains of being 75.
Other treatments are surely better then they were then, so I'm not advising he get it cut out. Getting other specialists opinions might be a great idea even if he likes this doctor.
But for sure there is hope.
Though it was metastasized from the testicles, remember Lance Armstrong's cancer had spread to his brain and lungs. I have heard his foundation site is pretty helpful to people looking for advice, though I haven't seen it.
Wishing your friend and you the best.
