3. meh, my meds are really helping |
|
just got to find the right dx. my new doc, who has yet to see me when i am feeling rotten reacted to my news with the zeal of a geeky kid with a new chemistry set. now he gets to play with my meds and figure out just what is wrong with my immune system. instead of upping the meds that are working he wants to play around and see what does what. it's okay, tho, i am tired of half answers and guesses. if we can pin it down better, that would make me happier that getting a little more work done.

2. Partial Obstruction of the Small Bowel |
|
It's a mild partial obstruction, but omigod does it HURT. Plus I have to be very very careful and limit pain meds so I can feel if it gets worse (ha, it looks like I'm 12 months pregnant) or does something fun like turn into peritonitis or appendicitis. I just have mild Crohn's - I can't imagine what hell people with moderate or severe go through.
Kidney failure doesn't have relapsing remitting cycles, but when I've got anything else going on, it does make things harder on them - especially since I have to take anti-inflammatories (very, very bad for the kidneys, but right now, the obstruction is more of a risk).

So now, I don't need one and want to delay that, well, forever. I'm B-, which is the worst group for transplant plus I have primary FSGS - the disease shows up in the donor organ while they're stitching it in. My prognosis varies from "poor" to "god hates you" - I have primary idiopathic FSGS and two other kidney diseases, plus scarring from chronic kidney infection and I'm a consecutive stone former. And that's just the kidneys!
Good thing my Crohn's is mild - I can't take the anti-inflammatories very often or for very long because they'd kill me (kidneys again) and steroids are a bad idea (diabetes, plus I hate taking them).
