The Dodgers are my favorite team but I love seeing the Rox do well. Hope the brothers Monfort do everything they can to keep the core together. They can start by signing Matt Holliday to a deal this offseason!

2. the Monfort ownership is a blight |
|
they refuse to spend enough to build a true contender. The current team is fun to watch though. Tulowitzki and Holliday are true stars. Their pitching is horrifically shallow though and the franchise would not spend a dime to bolster it.
They are playing great ball the last eight though.

3. Yeah, they won't spend a dime. |
|
Still a little gun shy from the Hampon and Neagle signings six years ago. Not to mention Helton's long term extension. Tulowitzki is a stud and should be the Rockies short stop for the next ten years.

The one-game playoff is tied at 6 in the bottom of the ninth...it doesn't get much better than this! I'm a Cardinal fan so I had my fun last season, so I'm rooting for the Rocks.

6. That was definitely... |

One of the greatest games I've watched since last years NLCS Game 7 between the Cards-Mets. That was a instant classic. Holiday didn't touch home plate though...but that made up for the homer that was ruled a double earlier. What a game!

7. The umpiring was pretty brutal in that game |
|
especially behind the plate.
*Technically*, I think Barrett was guilty of obstruction, blocking the plate before he had the ball (additionally, he never caught the ball--that is, he didn't catch it and drop it; he just never caught it, so he never had a right to block the plate). They rarely call that and it wasn't McClellan's call, but . . .

9. last night was a bit shaky |
|
Fuentes always scares the crap out of me and last night showed why
but the rockies use all 25 players and they find a way to keep winning
frigging amazing--totally off the charts
the poetic justice was also interesting. after Eric Byrnes' stupid, inflammatory comments about the rockies just being "lucky," he stunk the joint up. Smith's big bloop double landed in front of Byrnes and he made the last out with a big old belly flop at first.
Holliday was series MVP--he'd better win the league MVP too. The Rockies need to get Tulo and Helton untracked for the Series. Fuentes looked like he had nothing. maybe a few days' rest will help him.

10. My hubby was at the game and said that Byrnes got huge booing |
|
The crowd didn't leave him alone.
I'm not as baseball savvy as I'd like to be. But from what I've been following, the whole team gave it all and probably could have shared MVP. I like Holliday, Tulo and Matsui. Heck, how can we not like the whole bunch!
