can someone bring me down to earth about the Tigers? |
|
----THIS FIRST BIT ISN'T FLAME BAIT, OK? :) -------
I cannot root for any American League team in good conscience because of the DH, but that little bit of pretentiousness takes a backseat to the memories of seeing Whitaker and Trammell when I was a kid. I'm back in Detroit now for a little while so I'm kinda, sorta hoping they do ok. I'll be damned, but the kitty cats seem to be headed for a little respectability, no?
Is it my homer instinct or do you think so too?

1. I think the Tigers are close to being contenders in the AL Central |
|
If not this year, next year for sure. The ChiSox are on their way down, the Tribe will be in contention this year with the Twins winning the central. The only team really in the cellar this year is the KC Royals.

2. I am a huge Tigers fan. |

They will win the division possibly this year, and for sure next year.
The Twins are still good, but they are weaker than last year. The White Sox are weaker as well. KC has little hope in the short run. Cleveland did not add anybody significant. They do have a young and improving club, but it doesn't have the potential of the Tigers.
I'd say this year the division is up for grabs between the Tigers, Twins and Indians.
Next year, when the Tigers sign an ace and Bonderman wins the Cy Young, they will win the division.
