"What are you doing for Christmas?" "Is family coming?" "What, you're alone?" |
|
Nothing save lighting extra candles and listening to special music. No guests on their way Alone? No. Surrounded by sweet ghosts and the embrace of warmth I can feel when I aim for a quiet, reflective state.
Too much activity, too many people around, ah, that has always made me feel lonely and sad. Now I understand. The love goes unnoticed in too much bustle. Love is a quiet, patient sort, waiting for a peaceful moment so to be noticed.
May your days be Merry and Bright, and all your Christmases contain a bit of quiet.

1. Havocmom, I REALLY needed this today. Thank you! |

It will just be me and my husband this Christmas. My Dad was to travel here to MI from Niagara Falls Ontario for 2 weeks but he's taken ill and his Drs won't let him come. He's 85 and I honestly think it's for the best that he stay home where he has nursing care and is safe but still, I wish he were coming.
The quiet will be good though. We will reflect and we'll raise a glass to those we love. I'll toast my online friends who mean so much to me. Thank you for being one of those friends.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

2. I think that first Christmas was very quiet. |

Silence, I've found, is a gift, as is solitude. May the peace of this season be yours tonight, and always.
