I just lost my parents this past year 2010, is it common to dream about you parents. |
|
I dream more about my Father, he seems happy in the dreams.
Miss you Dad.

My Mum died in 1997. I dream of her fairly often. She's always smiling just as she always smiled in life.
I hope those dreams bring you comfort.
I'm sorry your loss is what brings you to our little group.

3. It has taken a few months to get this far, thankful for this group. |
|
I wasn't that close to my parents, raised by my Aunt who has passed many years ago.
My Mother was a hard woman to get to know but I still miss her.
My Father and I got together about 5 years ago, he even lived with me for awhile.
They were both very ill so their passing wasn't sudden.
I am dealing with this, my brothers and sister not so well.
They were invited to the funeral but didn't come, they should have.
Saying goodbye is important.

2. i lost my mom over a year ago and am not able to recall a single |
|
dream i've had of her since--which really surprises me. i think about her all the damn time--i am still grieving for her it's hard to imagine that i haven't dreamed of her all this time
when my dad passed--years ago--i remember having three dreams of him where he was healing more and more in each dream.
but with my mom? nothing that i recall and i'd love to dream of her, talk to her. maybe it doesn't happen because we know the potential of me getting too emotional over it. i don't know.
i'm really sorry about your parents--i can't imagine losing both in that short period of time.
take good care of yourself.

4. My dad and I talk in my dreams, can't always remember what we say. |
|
He is at peace and was ready to go.
I look like him, so he is still here with me.

5. I'm so sorry that you lost both of them this past year. |
|
I lost my mom nearly 5 years ago, and my dad this past summer. Yes, I dream about them all the time, and have some wonderful conversations with them... one day, my husband told me that I was talking and laughing in my sleep, and he heard me say "Mom." I miss them every day. The holidays are especially hard between Christmas and New Years. My birthday is January 1, and I ALWAYS spent the week between the two with my parents. I am so fortunate that I met and married my husband this year... I don't know what I'd do without him here. This must have been a terribly difficult year for you. I hope you're holding up OK. Ruth

6. I am OK, just getting used to the fact that both of them are gone. |
|
I didn't know them growing up so it is a surprise that I can miss them so much.
The bond between child and parents is very strong it seems.
I have no regrets, did all I could for them.
I hope they are happy now, no pain and having a good time.
My brothers and sister are having a bad time now, should have gone to the funerals.
Even if one has a bad relation with one's parents, they are still your parents.
In the spring I will plant a rose bush for each of my parents in my yard.
Life goes on.

8. Our loved ones indeed reach out to us in dreams . . . |
|
After I lost my teenage son, I was devastated. I had several dreams in which he would sit in front of me and just hold my hands and smile at me. They gave me a great sense of peace and warmth in my soul but I didn't know if I was just imagining these things until one dream in particular. In this one, all I heard was my son's voice telling me he was worried about his friend who lived across the street. Then he showed me his arms (always did that in my dreams as he has a scar on his right arm that we used to joke about using to identify him if we ever needed to do so)and said something about white. I asked the girl's mother about a week later how her daughter was, expecting to get the perfunctory, "fine and thanks for asking." Instead she looked at me and broke down in tears and said that something was wrong with B and they didn't know what. I told her she might think I was crazy but my son had came to me in a dream and told me he was worried about B and said something about "white." I asked her if the word white meant anything to her and she said no. I figured if she was sick then maybe "white" was some kind of a syndrome. I googled it in and about fell off my chair. It is indeed a syndrome where the heart misfires. I printed out the information and went to take it to my neighbor a few days later. I asked if she had a diagnosis yet and she said yes, the doctor called it WPW syndrome. I handed her the information I had printed out. WPW was short for a condition called "wolfe-parkinson-white syndrome". My son knew her diagnosis even before the Doctor did. I told her that my son also said she was going to be fine (and she is)and that her kids obviously have a guardian angel looking out for them. This was about a year ago that this happened and it still makes me feel warm all over. I have had other dreams where he "stops by" and just tells me something inconsequential like last night he came to me wearing a sweater in his dream and smiled at me and told me he didn't like wearing this sweater. Being a teenager, him and I always went around about him dressing warm enough so I think this was his way of doing something to make me happy. Okay, this is one of those "belief it or not things" I don't really care what anyone thinks about it as I know it happened and my neighbor, who is a registered nurse by the way, can confirm that this happened. I just know that he is happy and at peace and is truly watching out for his family and friends. I believe that everyone who has a strong bond with someone who passes, also has that connection and they just need to look for the signs that their loved ones sends to keep them connected whether it be through dreams, a song they hear on the radio at just the right time or little coincidences that seem just too perfect to be such.
