| A question from GreenLantern about grief and mourning |
|
What is the difference between grief and mourning? And am I being silly for crying in public or talking to friends at the grocery store about my loss? (Or in my (gpv's) case at church and in sunday school class.)

Holding it in and not expressing what you really feel, is. Talking to friends? That's what they're for, no matter where. And church is certainly the most obviously okay place for that sort of thing. Grief is what you feel and mourning is how you express it. Receiving comfort from friends in time of grief is the best thing you can get.

| 2. I agree except that deep down I feel |
|
awkard about all the leaky-eyed business I go through at church. Like some people might be thinking that it's just gone on for too long now.

There is no timetable for grief, imo.
Here's a big hug for you and all here who are in the same boat.
I cried in my gyne's office on Monday! It was the first time I ever saw this Dr. and she gave me a hug. I am now trying St. John's Wort on her advice......

| 4. Thanks for that hug! *returning it* I keep thinking I might try some meds |
|
but... I dunno. I think better eating and exercise in the great outdoors will help almost as much, at least for me. I know I get squirrely when I don't take care of myself (which is most of the time. :P )

| 5. I am usually like that (the meds) but I have been |

hiking, swimming everyday and doing yoga. I'm a vegetarian......
Can't think of what else I could do better . Maybe this (St. John's Wort) will help.

for a while, several months back when I saw myself thinking and behaving badly. It works quite well, I think. And then after several weeks I was able to stop taking it, cause I felt "normal" again. I totally preferred it to Welbutrin, which I had tried another time and did not like at all. Hugs are good medicine as well.
