My husband died in August, and I am devastated. |
|
We found each other in our late 30s, and it felt like coming home, like we had been looking for each other all our lives. Twenty-one years later, we were still happy to see each other every day. He and I were raising our two little granddaughters together, and he was the best Papa ever. And then he had a heart attack and died. We are getting lots of support from friends and family, but I feel like my heart is broken in two.

1. Rhiannon, I am so very sorry for your loss. |
|
I can't imagine your pain. I'm glad you have friends and family who are holding you up at this time.
I'm truly at a loss for words here. Anything I type looks so ...
Just please know that I do care.

I feel so badly about your loss. All of us here have suffered losses too great to cope with. My husband died 3 years ago and he is still in my mind every day. There are no words to describe the emptiness. You are fortunate to have great family support, please keep strong. We will all be thinking of you.

I just found this group, and I have been reading your posts. I am so sorry for YOUR loss. I am comforted by knowing that you truly understand what I'm going through, but I am saddened to realize that I'm just at the beginning of an endless grieving process. Thank you for your kind words.

I can't imagine how lonely you must feel when your best friend and loving companion isn't within reach. Take good care of yourself and help your little granddaughters to remember him with laughter. My deepest sympathy to you.

9. Rhiannon, I am so sorry. We too, married late and I lost him last year. |
|
Some days when I think of him, it's to be grateful that we had such good years together.
Other days when I think of him, it's to be so sad because I miss him so much.
Yet we can go on and even find ways to have some happiness.
The joy and the pain for you is that you have your two little granddaughters. But they're important reasons to keep going.
Hugs for you and your sorrow.

George was my soul mate and best friend, but it took us 37 years to find each other. We had 21 beautiful years together, and I am so grateful for those years. But I wasn't ready to lose him yet. I feel like I was robbed. At this point (it hasn't yet been two months), my anger at the injustice, and my sadness and longing for him are so huge and all-consuming that they're bigger than the gratitude. I miss him so badly it hurts. I look forward to the time when the pain won't be this intense. I want my gratitude to someday be bigger than the sadness.
