Normally, I'm a very easy going person. I rarely even argue with people. However, when I'm on my bike I'm so ready to snap. Maybe it's all of the years of getting yelled at, honked at, having things thrown at me, or even run off the road. That stuff doesn't happen that regularly, but it's built up over the last 20 years or so, and now I just go off at the slightest little provocation. Feels good while I'm doing it, but after I calm down I realize that its really *not* good. Anyone else have this problem?

but I live in a small, highly liberal town on the water in Massachusetts. I used to have problems in the middle of Mass, but not here.
It's like being a NYC bike messenger, with 1% of the traffic.

I think part of my problem is the commando style of riding that I developed while living in Center City Philadelphia. Now I'm also in a small town but still a very densely populated area. I just need to learn to let it go when some pimple faced mouth breather screams "faggot!" :eyes: at me from his mom's SUV.
On Edit: "Ditch the Auto" :toast:

...recalling a time when I took them on a bike 'tour' and a car pulled up close to me, slowed down and yelled something at me. I 'snapped' and yelled as the car hurriedly pulled away "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME, GET OUTTA HERE!" which immediately changed to "GET BACK HERE COWARD, WHERE TH' HELL YOU GOING, C'MON BACK!" I screamed as I let my bike fall and struck a menacing stance. My kids, who were riding ahead of me, turned to see the startled old lady as she sped away. They tease me about the fact that I was simultaneously telling her to go away and condemning her for doing so. And for yelling at an old lady. I often fantasize while riding, of having a paint-ball gun mounted on my handle bars to shoot real paint at the assholes who can't handle sharing the road.
