Manhattan Beach - The Strand |
|
Ah I got out there Sunday for the first time in a month and got my 25 miles, over, up and down, and back. I was looking at some of those new Italian Renaissance houses, corner lots on the strand. 3500 foot lots, or so, 5500 foot houses, of 3 stories. Talking about it the next day I said million dollar. Someone said more than that. So I looked online? 13,500,000.00 Two at that price. Several others at 12, 10, and 8 or 9 million. Nice houses. Small lot. But who has that kind of money? That is a different kind of money than I have. dc

After Malibu, that's probably the most desirable beachfront property in SoCal.
I usually take Highland through Manhattan Beach, the strand is a too nutty with kids and dogs. Nice houses there too - for about 1/4 the price (not that I can afford that either).

2. Manhattan has a separate bike path. Thus it's not too bad, and |

the actual strand is up hill, just at the houses. It's Hair mosa where the path is cluttered with walkers standers drinkers kids etc. Redondo you have to use some street, then more bike path. But it actually is not that bad. I do remember many years ago it was worse and now the population and the density has increased, so, in balance not bad. dc
