| Second Sunday in a row that I got a 29-miler in! |
|
Wow, this could become a habit! 2 hours and 29 minutes, had to get off and walk up the hills twice...Hit 35 MPH on a down hill, set up in my "ridiculous" gear at the start of the descent, so I could start putting the power to it at the bottom and went an additional 1/2 mile in the river bottom before I couldn't hold 30 MPH any more. That was a RUSH! Especially with the sweeping right-hander at the bottom of the hill that I took at 32...
Great ride! And with the 18-mile ride I did last week after work, that made for a 45-mile week...

| 1. This was a great weekend to ride... |

though I about melted from the heat. Something about watching a bunch of guys doing it on TV for three hours before that motivates you a little more.

I had a 30 mph downhill for a bit yesterday, but I gave up it up to a road detour over gravel and sand to keep the shiny side shiny.
Really cool about the 29 milers. You are gonna twist the pedals off if you keep this up.

I have this picture of you in my mind zipping through those back roads on your pink bike -- and since I don't know what you look like, all I see is this big grin! :D

| 5. Oh, I wasn't riding "Franken-Bent"! |
|
I was riding "La Velo Rouge", my upright Bridgestone.
I have to wonder, how much faster I could have gone if I hadn't been catching so much wind in my grin on that downhill.
It was one of those days when everything, equipment, weather, route, rider was just SO right that it was a purifying experience.

But it has been totally "BOB-ified", Nitto stem and bars, B-17 saddle, 700X35 tyres, Exage hubs and HG cassette, Dia-Comp 500's and Aero levers and Sun-tour gearing.
The VX derailleur and HG cluster shifts friction like it was indexing.
