|
its laced, have a tensionometer, but cant figure out how to use it. Damn thing wont true and I get a bump when it is true. It's really making me mad. Using a park tool tensiomenter I have the drive side spokes at 27, then try and true the rest and it gets potato chipped again. Whats a guy gotta do?

How'd you learn to build a wheel? Most people either read Jobst Brandt's book "The Bicycle Wheel" or Sheldon's web page on wheel building.
If you have your wheel pop into a Pringle when you tension it, that's a sign of having it too tight.

From my limited experience in working on wheels, I'd be inclined to think you're putting too much faith in that tension meter. I'd get the thing straight and true first, and let the tensions fall where they nmay.
