More Peri-Menopause Questions |
|
I have some general questions. I am 47 years old, and have been peri-menopausal for about 7 years according to my ob/gyn. In the last 6 months or so I have been having weird periods. By weird I mean the timing and length of them. The majority of my life my cycle was about every 28 days (give or take a couple of days) with the first day heavy, then lighter to the last, forth day where all I need is a panty liner aka almost no flow. Now here are my last cycles May 2 - 3 June none July 4 - 7 July 27 - 29 August 23 - 27 September 19 - 20 October 19 - 22 October 30 - unknown
See what I mean, the cycle is off (just a bit), but even more than that the length has gone from about 3 days plus one of very light flow to what ever, and its not just the length it is also the flow, some can be light for the whole cycle, others the reverse of my history, start light end heavy. Is this normal?

1. Hi. This sounds familiar to me. |
|
My periods just kept getting more and more erratic and non-typical (either heavier or lighter-mostly lighter) than my regular menstrual sycle. I made it through about seven years of peri-menopause by just toughing it out. My last two periods were 9 months apart and I never took any medication for it until I tried Premarin cream for a few months after developing very bad problem with dryness. The Premarin creme brought on the hot flashes again, unfortunately. I didn't last on that very long.

i was in perimenopause for the last 6 or so years. my cycles were light/heavy, short/long for that time, it was so frustrating! everytime i bought feminine products, i would think, "is this the last box"??
i'm now decidedly in menopause, not having had a period since feb or march or this year. besides the frequent hot flashes, it's going pretty well. for a person who was ALWAYS cold, this is so different!
