It's only been a few days but I swear that Proactiv is working!
I've had a large patch of acne on my right cheek for months now. Since I'm almost 50, I assume it must be related to being perimenopausal. Anyway, I've tried many OTC treatments with no success so I finally broke down and ordered Proactiv and I've been using it since Tuesday. Since then, there have been no new eruptions and the old ones are getting flatter and lighter.

I'll let you know if this changes but I'm very optimistic right now! :D

1. Good news!
I still get the occasional blemish. I wouldn't mind except they leave a red spot that takes forever to go away. I'll have to try this stuff.

2. This latest episode was about two dozen blemishes --
a patch about three inches in diameter. I don't remember it being this bad when I was a teenager! But they are getting flatter and lighter in color. I've been religious about using the cleanser, toner, "repair lotion", and oil-free moisturizer twice daily and I've used the "bonus" mask once, too. The proof will be when it finally clears up completely, of course. But tonight, I didn't put any extra concealer over the patch -- just some lightweight foundation.

Good luck!

3. Hey, that is great news!
Not to be the fly in your ointment, but quite a few people I know who used Proactiv found that it stopped working after a while.

If you find that happening, there's a great regimen at acne.org. :hi:

4. Glad you found something that works
and I'll keep it in mind in case I need something besides Accutane in the future. I had 20 years of cystic acne and the thought of it coming back is horribly depressing. Although, I've been peri for several years now and not much in the way of skin eruptions, thank God!
