Anyone ever use Ortho 1/35?
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 03:53 PM by SarahBelle
If so, did you gain weight? I had a similar experience years ago with Ortho 7/7/7.

I switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen to the generic version of Ortho 1/35 in order to bypass my health insurance (i.e. they only pay for one new pack a month) to start a new pack after the 3 weeks of active pills (with my doctor's approval) to minimize my cycles and the bad cramps I was getting along with them. I actually was briefly on Seasonale (which is supposed to reduce your periods to once every 3 months, but I bled for almost 3 weeks strait so I had to find another option).

Anyway, in the past few months I've put on almost 10 pounds and I haven't changed my eating habits (and my life is even busier and more active) and I've had a few other issues as well. I'm almost thinking the cramps weren't so bad and I may end up going back to the Tri-Cyclen and having that one day every month where I'm miserable if it means I don't have to fight so hard to keep my weight down. :grr:

I'm also considering the Mirena IUD. Anyone use this? Did it really reduce your periods? I used the Copper T IUD before and after that I started getting the bad cramps (permanently unfortunately).
