Does anyone else get really sick with PMS?
I'm not talking about the usual symptoms of cramping, bloating, emotional issues. I actually get a fever, sore throat, upper-respiratory symptoms and often nausea and vomiting. I don't get it every single month - more like every other one.

I follow a healthy vegetarian diet, I exercise, get plenty of rest and am otherwise healthy. I've mentioned it to my doctor and I've used natural progesterone cream but it hasn't really worked.

Anyone get sick like this? Thanks. :)

1. Sinus infections, bloody noses, my cholesterol spikes.
Sometimes I get the nausea and vomiting from the sinus infection, especially if there's a lot of drip down my throat (sorry if that's TMI.) Often, a sinus infection will become an ear infection for me, but that's been true since I was 6 months old.

I notice that I'm more prone to catching other people's colds and such if I'm around them in the post-ovulatory, pre-PMS period. I am to the point now where I don't schedule many clients in those few days, and try not to go out in public much because I'll just get sick and have to take more time off. Fortunately, I have a job that lets me do that and it seems to help some, though I still get the occasional cold - just not the every 60 days one. (Long cycle here.)

It may be more of an immune system diminished response  . Since you have your shop, maybe being obsessive about hand sanitizer and the Lysol on the counters would help.

3. I used to get horrible nausea
Then I started using evening primrose oil, and my nausea has been cut considerably.

I also get sinus and gum inflammation, a sore throat, and lots of sudden body temperature changes.

4. Sick but different symptoms
My symptoms are headaches and fatigue.
I'm under the care of a naturopathic doctor. She put me on vitex (chaste tree berry)and it seems to be helping. Google the herb and learn about it. It helps in situations of low progesterone. (BTW, I couldn't tolerate the progesterone cream; it gave me terrible PMS. I cried a lot.)

5. Yikes! No.
My problem is a horrific lower backache that starts the first day.

In fact, the pain gets so intense, I can judge almost to within 5 minutes when I need to run to the bathroom for the first tampon.

I have to pop Motrins like jellybeans until the first 2 days are over with, or I cannot function normally. There's just this low dull ache all over in my lower back. Heating pads help too, but mostly I'm useless then.

6. You need to use natural soy based progesterone
Not the yam based cream, yams are often grown outside us and treated with DDT.

PM me and I'll give you a source.

7. Not really sick, but SO tired that I think I might be getting sick.
All I want to do the week before my period is sleep. And I'm very cranky.
