Amazing, isn't it, how such silly and inconsequential nonsense as this fund drive thing can bring back the flood of insecurities in an instant...

And No, you're not alone. I had a similar reaction. Fund drives are important, but I rolled my eyes when I finally figured out why some people had rows of teeny hearts in their sig lines.
