...is while driving. I live out in Wyoming, and work in the field as a geologist, and so necessarily do many long hitches behind the wheel. It's so goddamn hard to not have some with me. I'll pull over at the first truckstop I see and buy a pack when the cravings hit.

1. Put on a good radio station, |
|
tape,or CD---and sing along. A great replacement to cigs.

Subscribed to XM just for the tunes. Like I said, I do lots of driving. It's just hard cravings while I'm driving.

3. That was hard for me too |
|
but I only have about a 30 minute commute. At first even a 10 minute drive was hard.
I'm not sure I have good advice. Have you tried hard candies? I used sugar free (they are not calorie free and excessive consumption of sortbitol can have a laxative effect). Snacking on carrot or celery sticks when you're driving?

5. Driving was one of the hardest times to overcome. I was a menthol smoker |
|
so sugar-free peppermint lifesavers worked pretty good. Also used mint flavored toothpicks or coffee stir stick straws. I'd find myself tapping them on the steering wheel just like packing a smoke. Also found that "flickin' a bic" or clicking a retractable pen helped with some of the hand "stuff".
