It might help to post the area of the country where everyone lives so we can heads up to each other for any impending inclemate weather.

I live in Missouri, south central part of the state, near Branson. We get some shielding from the Ozark hills, but still get our fair share of storms.

We're smack in the middle of our severe storm season, here. In fact, we just got some penny sized hail here yesterday, and were under a tornado watch for much of the day. Thankfully, no tornadoes near me.

We have a cousin who lives in Forsythe (I think that is how you spell it) are you close to that area?

6. I am trying to remember

I took that several years ago so I do not remember. My husband and I are planning on going to visit his cousin sometime this spring. He is retired and does nothing but fish and go out on his boat. A great guy with a big love of classical music, opera and his dog. I am looking forward to it since I have never been there. Been to Branson but never Forsyth.

We get a lot of shielding from the Appalachian Mountains, but we can still get some pretty killer thunderstorms here, and even the occasional tornado (aka the La Plata storm that hit a few years ago)



This was further south closer to DC, but still....

17. taos, new mexico

this is the southwest, but we're at 7,000' elevation, making it a zone 5, as far as gardening goes. we have four seasons, winters down to 0, lots of sun, no natural disasters.

what i love about the summer weather here is that it will get to be an unbearable 90 degrees, then mid-afternoon, it clouds up and rains, and the temperature drops to 60 or 50. it is heaven! i put on my sweats, turn on the oven and bake some potatoes, or make soup. summer is never hot.

is there any other place in the world like this?! i'd like to leave the country some day, but this weather pattern is what i'm seeking.

This year the storms seem to be skirting around us... but Spring ain't over yet!

And the furnace kicked on this morning. It's a slow spring coming.
