[Cooley Hurd]

1. I've got a root that stretches out to Oregon...

My great-Grandfather, Charles A Hurd, Jr, was married (before he met my great-Grandmother, Bertha Miller Hurd) and moved to Oregon in the late 1800's/early 1890's. That's where my paternal grandmother Ruth Hurd's (my surname) half-sister, Maud Hurd Prinz was born.

Evidently, his first wife died in Oregon and he left an infant daughter there, taking only his daughter, Maud back to Auburn, NY. I'd love to know more about it and will check out your links. Thanks!:hi:
