:hi: everyone.

I recently received some tapes of an interview that my foster aunt had with the wife of her late uncle. In that tape, she asks her the question about the "two adopted daughters" of her mother mentioned to her by the ailing wife of her other uncle long time since deceased (c. 1985).

My mother was adopted daughter #1 (and the only adoption I knew of). However, there are some photos I have - some dated 1925 (the year my mother was born) and another set of baby pictures (is this the same baby?) dated 1928 with the year crossed out on some of them and 1925 written above them. Could my mother have had an adopted sister?

Upon hearing of this possible 2nd adopted daughter, I checked the Louisiana death index on ancestry.com and found the death of a person with the surname that would be that of the second adopted daughter in 1929.

Is there any way to retrieve more info. on records in the Louisiana Death Index?

I'd appreciate any help and please P/M me if you have actual access to this index and can check.
