away to the local genealogical society in about 2 weeks. In the meantime, during the next 2 weeks if anyone here is interested, I would be willing to look for people in
1. a small book "Ohio Valley Genealogies" relating chiefly to families in Harrison, Belmont and Jeffeson Counties, OH, and Washington, Westmoreland, and Fayette Counties, PA.
2. Wills and Adminstrations of Northumberland County, PA including Wills and Administrations of Union, Mifflin, and Indiana Counties. (appears to be 1772-1849)
3. Abstract books of marriages and deaths from Carlisle, PA newspapers for dated 1837-1848 and 1851-1858 and 1868-1872.
4. Reynolds Family
5. Geer Family
Also a little from New York. I do not have any census books or cds.

Like a dork, I got duplicates of a couple books I didnn't realize I already had from Origins Bookstore in Janesville, Wisconsin.
I stupidly donated them to the Genealogical section at the Dallas Library, thinking it might grant me some extra status, but I was wrong. They STILL won't let me use their Interlibrary Loan. And the Rowlett Library is so backwards-ass, they won't let me access anything from Wisconsin.
But I think it's great when other donate their stuff. Makes it so much easier for the rest of us!

I would love for you to check out a name for me
My mother has been tracing her family for over 30 years. She has been looking for her gg grandmother for that long. This grandmother was born according to census records in Ohio 12/22/1817. Her name before marriage was Harriet McClellan. We know that she was married in July 1834 in Warren County and we have good information from that point forward. Would you mind checking for that name to see if you can come up with any McClellan(d)'s that may fit as parents. The only other clue that we do have is that her dad was from PA and her mom from VA/Ohio (it varies according to census year). Also there is a land deed wherein Harriet and her husband Rheu Clark sold land to a Robert McClellan. It may be no relation but it's a clue.
BTW, We also have New Jersey/Indiana Reynolds in our line though we know their history.

Ohio Valley book didn't have a McClelland.
The dates in Pennsylvania would appear to be after your McClellands were already in Ohio, but
Wills and Administration of Northumberland Co. Pa states a James McClelland died 1/--/1841 in Mahoning County. I'm guessing the 2/14/1844 was when his will/estate was probated? Wf, Isabella, Bros. William, John (who had Joseph, William, Mary, Alice), Sis. Jane Carson.
Carlisle Pennsylvania abstracts has American Democrat (Carlisle, PA) Newspaper July 22, 1852 Died on Monday the 13th inst., at Evansville, on the Mississippi River, Mr. Robert Harris McClelland, formerly of Carlisle, aged 56 years.

| 4. Thank you for looking that up. These are two good leads. |

I always find it interesting when first names of older ancestors start showing up in later generations. My ggg grandmother named 5 of her 13 children Isabella, William, John, Mary and Alice, of course they are common names however, one never knows. Thank you so very much.
