1. Glad to see some halfway respectful writing about this voting bloc.

Every attempt to discuss this voting bloc with some semblance of objectivity gets shot down by people screaming "racists" and "hillbillies," as if any appeal to them were by definition racist.

I like this excerpt from the Wall Street Journal in another post:

"In fact, the greatest realignment in modern politics would take place rather quickly if the right national leader found a way to bring the Scots-Irish and African Americans to the same table, and so to redefine a formula that has consciously set them apart for the past two centuries."

Calling the former nothing but ignernt redneck racists isn't going to make that happen.

And I think the author gets it... about why the scots-irish (myself included) like Hillary.
