This tactic couldn't technically qualify as a "group attack"... |

...but have you noticed it's virtually impossible for ANY Clinton threads to make it to the front page or greatest page? Obama supporters hit the recommend button for EVERY Hillary-bashing or pro-Obama thread, no matter how worthy (or not). I've seen their one-liners get send to the greatest page. It's ridiculous. It used to be that a thread recommendation actually meant something. But why bother composing and posting cogent, discussion-inviting threads when any piece of tripe, as long as its pro-Obama, can garner scores of recommendations, often without the slightest hint of actual, adult discourse in the entire thread? I doubt some of those folks even read/follow or respond to the threads they recommend. Most posts that are truly interesting and take longer than 10 seconds to read get scrolled off the page so fast it's a waste of time even writing them. As for myself, I sometimes feel as if I'm addressing a bunch of schoolkids who are so ADD they only have enough patience for the Cliff's Notes version of a political discussion.
The purpose of thread recommendations has been so abused as to be a joke thanks to the Obama crowd, who apparently believe just showing up and pasting your name on the page is deserving of a recommendation. Not to mention that by sheer numbers alone they can force any other threads to the bottom of the pile.

1. But the bottom of the pile |

is also where they are all heading ,that the last thing they will see before reaching it.It is also a deep felt fear that compels them to do the things that they do.Can you not see their fear?It is actually pitiful .They don't know how to win and cannot bear the thought of losing. They don't have the necessary experience to bear up to it.

That behavior - the "winners" approach taken by "practical" and "realistic" people - is symptomatic of the entire Obama campaign. Staffers BRAGGED to me about how they cynically planned and orchestrated the Edwards endorsement, gamed the caucuses, successfully portrayed the race as a good versus evil all-or-nothing match up, tarred Clinton with "DLC" and "racist" and Iraq war associations, and dozens of other power play stunts. They brag about how they are getting big crowds out through successful marketing and the manipulation of people through a pyramid-type scheme of promoting the events, as though they were rock concerts or something. The cognitive dissonance is reaching a fever pitch, because they will violently argue against any criticism of these tactics - "that is not happening!" - and then turn around later and brag and gloat about "pulling it off" - about doing the same things they deny doing when anyone criticizes them.
There is a smug and cynical "winners" attitude there - a claim that this is the way the game is played, these are the teams and the issues, we are superior at playing the game, we know what is best for the people and they are all losers, we are the winners, we are the successful ones, the smart ones, the educated ones - and "you can't argue with success." Anyone objecting must be one of those stupid racist people from West Virginia.
This is the essence, a distillation, of the attitudes and tactics of modern liberalism, the arrogance and condescension and moral depravity that the public sees and resents from the Democratic party, and the main reason that people vote Republican.

I've always thought that GDP should require 100 recs to make the GP, then I saw a thread a thread simply titled "Rec for Obama" with over 1000 recs.
I just gave up ... sigh.

1000 recs for "Rec for Obama"?
That kind of groupthink is so wrong.

Not much can be done about that.
Thread recommendations have always been abused, ever since "K & R" posts.
