Quite a while ago. I asked to be banned but they wouldn't do it until they read it here on DU.

They banned me because I dared to comment about it here when others got banned. They've banned half their members and the other half left in disgust.

3. It's closing as of tonight.... |
|
I just looked in there and it looks like it's shutting it's doors. I can't say I'm surprised.

I was banned from that site, but it was a nice refuge during the bloody primary season. I was a little surprised I got an e-mail. I replied to it.

7. It was a refuge for me for about 10 minutes...... |
|
I quickly grew tired of the takeover of the Palinites..........And frankly I thought the admins got their panties in a snit way too easily and too often to be able to handle a message board. Just my 2 cents.

6. For the record, I remained a member. |
|
I did not agree with many in the later stages, but appreciated the timing and the start-up. There were some very passionate and some very well-informed posters. Hearing voices from a wider spectrum has its appeal, at least to me.
I did receive notices of the closing, which seemed especially well done.

8. I don't think I was banned because |
|
I got an e-mail about the site closing.
I liked it in the very beginning. It was a nice refuge from some of the Hillary bashing.
However, it disturbed me to see it get supportive of McCain and Palin! Some of the stuff there made me wonder if these people were even Democrats.
So I just stopped going to the site.
Can't say I am surprised it shut down.

This is the only board where I participate actively. I'm too busy to post on several boards.

16. You didn't miss anything. |

Some members here asked me to join. I was like you, 1 forum was enough. But after the primary, I joined. I posted 2 times there and got purged from the system because I didn't post enough. That was it for me. She should have been building a membership, not dumping people because they couldn't post often. I'm not surprised it's gone..........
I do still want to give credit to BV for all her hard work!
I haven't been in this forum for a long time, it's nice to see it has some current threads. I checked BO forum, nothing but zero reply's.

But I hadn't been over there since the Palin worship began. I will admit that it was a welcome refuge for a few months while DU and many other sites became way too unfriendly toward Hillary supporters. But as time went on the whole atmosphere there became more and more detached from reality. And when people started posting approvingly about some garbage that Michelle Malkin had written I knew it was time to be elsewhere.

11. The site was closed because the owner wouldn't tolerate the Palin adulation. |
|
its mission staement was in support of pro choice progressive women and some tried to convolte that and ignore the message. Many folks were obnoxious and not reflective of the websites mission. It was sad really. There were some really nice folks.

13. Then why didn't she ban them? |
|
That mission statement was a joke. The McCainites and Palinites took over there as soon as Clinton was out of the race.....and they carried on for quite some time.....months and months in fact. Anyone who dared to mention that they were going to support Obama after Clinton dropped out were effectively gagged. I know of quite a few people that were banned for daring to speak out. I also know of quite a few that got fed up and just left.
The fact of the matter is that the admin lost control of the board early on.

14. She actually did ban quite a few. I know I spoke out and said I was voting for Obama and many |
|
others did as well. The Admins were very clear that they did NOT support McCain Palin. The site owner stated that she would NOT and did not vote for them. The palinites were even asked not to bash Obama but to post positive things about progressive women. naturally, this was impossible for them. That is all I know. It should have been nipped earlier but the Palinites did overrun the Board and would not be reasoned with. One of the worst, who I think was a GOP mole all along, started her own group puporting to support Clinton and Palin both, a feat which is NOT possible.

15. I have an idea who I think that might be |
|
although I left too long ago to know who started their own group. I liked it there at first, some place to get away from the Hillary bashing. Then it turned ugly.

17. I was a mod for some time |
|
But another mod was definitely a mole and we came to blows a few times. Several posters also posted on conservative boards and bashed the Democrats, then returned to CH to play Democrat again. I did meet some nice people there but not enough to make me stay. I joined because of the way the Hillary fans were treated at DU, and knowing what I know about the moles who slipped in at CH I now suspect that they are here and have been for some time. A Democrat since birth I know I could never vote Republican. After Obama's act was polished he spoke as well as Palin and made more sense than a dingbat chosen at the last minute to run with a candidate worse than Bush.

Just to think of how Hillary supporters were treated here during the primaries. Bad memories, bad. It got to the point where I wondered if I would get TSed for expressing support for Hillary. Anyway, I guess it's water under the bridge now.

There are still a few of the loudest who are still unable to get ofer the primaries. You know who theyare....Part of the Usual Suspect crowd. For the most part, though, it is fairly quiet.
