Clinton Resilience Could Benefit Hillary |
|
CBS News Mon, 25 Feb 2008 2:30 PM PST History shows the folly of counting out a Clinton. If Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign is looking more and more like the Titanic, she may yet prove to be the unsinkable Molly Brown. more--> http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/02/25/politics/main3874710.shtml

2. This has been Hill's greatest strength |
|
her ability to endure, and endure, and endure.
I am not counting her out yet. Not after the tirade I heard in Ohio today (Bill Cunningham, for McCain.) I think someone forgot to tell Mr. Cunningham that Hillary isn't out of the race yet. And he went for Barack's jugular like the kind of repug pitbull he is.
If this keeps up, it could be that all Hillary has to do is sit back and let the repugs do her "dirty work" if you want to call it that. At least in Ohio.
Now... as for Texas.... the repugs are turning out, they tell us, 15% of their electorate to vote for Barack. In order to get Hillary off the ticket. I don't know HOW she can overcome that. I really don't. But.... if there is a way, she will think of it.

TX Two weeks ago, she was up by 16% Last week, she was up by 2% This week so far, she is DOWN by 1.5%
PA Two weeks ago, she was up by 36% Last week, she was up by 29% This week so far, she is up by 14%

Here is my opinion of what happens:
1) Early polls taken, when most of the electorate isn't really paying much attention to the primaries. Name recognition is extremely important in these polls, and no one has more name recognition in the Democratic primaries than Hillary Clinton.
2) The campaigning starts, and more people start paying attention, and start actually considering their options. The early soft support that Hillary benefited from in the early polls diminishes, and if there's enough time, goes away completely.
