4. Sounds more like right-wing attacks, accusing Hillary of murderous acts - again. |
|
I tell ya, if the Dems haven't gone crazy with this anti-Hillary/pro-Obama madness, the Republican infiltrators are sure succeeding at creating a good replica of it.
This poster is one of the worst offenders in the anti-Hillary camp. I've grown tired of putting 'em all on Ignore - I just purposefully ignore their posts anymore.
Thanks for the heads up, rodeo. Standing up for HRC has been a full-time job on DU anymore, it's exhausting, but I do believe seeing the attacking posts don't cause my blood pressure to shoot up as much as it used to early on!
Still, it's nothing compared to what Hillary herself has had to endure from these nutcases!

8. This is an issue that just pisses me off. |
|
Look at the Dems that voted with Hillary .. Dodd and Biden to name a few. I have fought this battle on DU several times, even was called a baby killer myself.
This is a complex issue and without reading the 'Laws of Armed Conflict' or as it is more commonly referred to, 'Rules of Engagement', people will have no idea what they are talking about.
This is a nuanced issue with many layers. This started over the percentage of 'dud rate' munitions left by a cluster bomb. We were purchasing from a vendor some that had a dud rate of up to 25%, even though the real averages were around the 5% rate. There is a senator whose spouse runs a military defense contracting business, this senator originally wanted to only purchase cluster munitions from suppliers who could guarantee a 1% or less dud rate, which the existing supplier could not guarantee. When this proposal did not get good reception being talked around the Hill, then the proposal to ban them completely was introduced. (kinda like 'if my spouse does not get a shot at supplying them well, we will just ban them')
Cluster munitons are not dropped at random on civilian populated areas as a rule. This is a problem as satellite images and verified intelligence has shown that the Iraqi forces intentionally stage next to hospitals, schools and other densely populated civilian areas. The Iraqis are willing to sacrifice their citizens as shields. If we do not take out entrenched forces like this and send in foot soldiers, well, we send in the foot soldiers to get picked off like fish in a barrel.
Ain't nothing pretty about a war. Ain't nothing pretty about collateral damage. It is a reality though and if we are at war, the bottom line is, our soldiers come first. Any edge we can give them, we need to give them. If it was all about lack of concern for collateral damage, instead of shock and awe, we would have just made a glass parking lot out of Iraq.
