I asked the question and I ask again sincerely, and if someone has a different take, please let me know. I truly do not understand.
His mother is white which makes him half white, why would he associate himself with someone who hates half of himself?

Ye gods. It is harsh, and I don't think entirely true...the "hate America" is interpretation, not fact. I don't think Obama hates America, although I don't think he loves it, either. I think he's ambivalent, as many people are.

no one knows but himself. BUT it ads creedence to his association with Wright and this was written well before shit hit the fan for him. Its resonates with hate, dislike, anger whatever anyone wants to call it.
and my point of view about the article is; Other nations are calling it like they see it. They don't sugarcoat or shelter people from a point of view that may be hard to swallow.

You can accept or reject it. I happen to agree with parts of it...it explains Michelle's very evident anger, for example. I always thought she almost bristles with anger in some of her speeches.
