Then after Indiana and North Carolina comes Kentucky and West Virginia, and Puerto Rico where she has huge demographic advantages.

But I think North Carolina is the game changer and why if an Edwards endorsement is a done deal they are waiting for him to have maximum impact in North Carolina, announcing it the day after winning Pennsylvania big by more than 20 points.

It hasn't gotten much media attention but she's going to compete hard for North Carolina. She's put her #1 campaign operative into North Carolina, Ace Smith, the guy that ran her operations in California and Texas.

Averell "Ace" Smith, the tough-as-nails former opposition researcher who managed the New York Senator's winning campaigns in California and Texas, has been ordered to bring in a win for Clinton in the May 6 primary, with Tarheel State polls showing Obama ahead by 8-10 points.

"There's no question that North Carolina is an uphill battle for us, but we intend to win here," said Smith in a phone interview Monday from North Carolina. "We're looking to score an upset."
