Driving through Pennsylvania, the trees balance the weight of several snow storms, bowing towards home. Between our pane of glass and the outside mist of fallen clouds is a world we have never before encountered.
We sit in the back seat, the children at almost thirty years of age and your parents must find ways to describe what we all see ~ how beautiful ~ defining for us once again things they think we don't know. But their voices dissolve all creative thought. Lost in whiteness, I shut them out as they try to write a commercial for something that must be felt through silence.

I've had those moments where words are not adequate to describe the landscape. But I also find interesting the views that the speaker has about her/his family that are expressed in the scene. There's a lot more there than just a description of a family get together and a snowy day. The attitude of the speaker says that this may not be the happiest family.
