The Truce
The Truce

He signed the truce
He was only a private, but he signed the truce anyway
It was just between him and them
No longer would he fire his gun at them
And no longer would they fire their guns at him
He signed the truce in blood
His blood
The truce became effective the instant the bullet tore into his chest
