The Asian Dawn Ramon Piñero…6/23/2005
El alba the dawn would come every day and spread her light and love and drive out the night;
the very dark night
El alba would shine through clouds and smog and fog bringing new life to a moribund world.
El alba always drove the nightmares back into their dark beginnings and dissipate the the longings for safety by her sweet sweet smile.
but el alba oriental\ the asian dawn would bring the smile of honeydew sweetness and misty mornings,
'round to places that could only dream of amapolas and monarch butterflies.
My asian dawn would (with just a wink and a nod) strike music into the least deserving of souls; she could (with just a grin) create symphonies of desire in my heart and make my knees weak with want; knowing I could never have her.
El alba oriental My asian dawn was always one step one mile one hill too far; too far away to enjoy her aroma; too far away to enjoy her touch; too far away to enjoy her very being.
One lifetime one age one world, so far away all I could do is look to the sky in the east and hope to catch a glimpse a smile a wry look;
Too far to jump (if i get too close) and like Icarus; burn that which lifts me high.
El alba oriental my asian dawn; i can only look at her through shaded glass; or with my naked eye, and like a solar eclipse,
blind me with her brilliance.
she is worth the price of eternal darkness for just one minute of her smile, for just one taste of her lips; for just one moment of her embrace.

| 3. And who, exactly, is "them"...? |

;-)
As far as I can tell, the only people who have posted anything this past month have been you, superconnected, and me. (And, to put that in perspective, prior to exactly one month ago today, I had written a whopping two poems in the past thirty-two years.)

| 4. "Them" is all of us... |
|
it is my opinion that when we read the writings of other poets and, it generally results in new and more poems...at least that how it seems to me...there may be perspectives that other poets have missed and there may be ideas that germinate because of other writers experiences...
