| When Your Ama Was Neutral (for my grandchildren) |
|
Edited on Sun May-04-08 09:03 AM by susankh4
Once upon a time Your Ama had beige walls Moss Green carpet
(You don't remember?)
Ama grew tired of white A bucket of tears She splattered on her wall
(Tears for whom?)
A shot rang out The president dead Shot in the head
(your Ama was nine)
He had a dream It was shattered Death of a King
(your`Ama was ten)
Four dead in Ohio Child son passing That exit called Kent
(your Ama was twelve)
Deep Blue tears on White-washed walls Sunshiny frames of hope
(Your Ama was 47) Pain welled up, spilled Into a knowing receptacle Kindness only matters
Note: I wrote this three years ago. Decided to edit and reprint, as we stand at the cusp of another revolution.
I only hope this one is not as costly as the last....
