| Awkward situation with ex gf roomate..an alcoholic |
|
I want to evict her, quick background...dated a year ago, friends for six years prior, knew she had a drinking problem but never knew it was this bad. she's been to rehab at least once, hospitalized at least three times, lost two jobs at least due to drinking, 29 years old...anyway...when I broach the subject of her drinking it usually ends up in a wicked shouting match...she broke the frame on my spare bedroom door, literally ripped the hinges out slamming it shut, she slammed it shut enough to pop the trim pieces out and later slammed it to rip the hinges partially out. she pays no rent or utilites...nothing. when we argue I usually walk away to end the argument but she usually follows to continue...last nite after she damaged her bedroom door I threatened to evict her...she grabbed the phone and threatened to call the police and say I hit her..she went so far as to hit the walls and would say the bruises came from me....she has a domestic violence charge against her but it was when she was 18 and recently had them sealed so it wouldn't show up on background checks for jobs...she's bipolar as well and on seroquel and a few other meds...in the last three weeks she's drank two large bottles of rum (the ones with the handle) and three or four liter bottles...last nite before the fight she tried to drive her car to get cigarettes but I offered to drive her as she was obviously wasted, which I did. She refuses to attend AA meetings saying it just wants to make her drink more.....I am at limit now...I need to get her out but I need to stay out of jail.. a womans word it stronger than a mans in domestic violence situations. I will try and get her on tape admitting the threat last nite...I really do not want to kick her out but she won't seek help and she is almost evil when she drinks. any advice? I worry if I call the police she WILL turn this on me...I'm at my wits end

| 1. you need to contact the authorities first and soon |
|
you own (or have the lease) therefore you can get her out anytime you chose.
pack her shit and put it on the porch, give the cops a heads up in case you have to call them if she starts damaging the property
good luck in a bad situation

| 4. I will if it comes to that, hoping she'll just find another place to live |
|
she has no friends except one she's made at her four month old job and she's suicidal, attempted it once in the three months she's been with me and a few times before.

she's suicidal but doesn't need AA huh? or counseling??
you have a mess on your hands, and there is a reason you're her only friend. what is it about you that thinks she's your responsiblity?
sometimes compassion is misplaced
good luck
