http://www.aainmiami.org/I went to treatment at Wayside House in Delray/Boca, so I'm somewhat familiar with what's available there, but right now I'm living at the other end of the state.
You don't need an "excuse" to go to a meeting. I'm doing relatively well right now, but still looked forward to meeting with my home group this evening. We had a fantastic time! It's one of those women's groups that don't seem to end, but just keep moving (from the church social hall> to the restaurant> to starbucks> etc.). When I
was depressed and tempted to drink, I sometimes went to two or three meetings a day. I couldn't string together more than three words some days: all I could do was sit there and cry. But the support I found there kept me sober and alive.
My suggestion: find a women's group. They tend to be a bit more supportive than mixed groups. Ask for telephone numbers. You will be overwhelmed with numbers! If transportation is a problem, call the intergroup office and tell them. They usually have volunteers that will be happy to arrange a ride.
Good luck.
