Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for general advice last week |

I just came back to this site, and found I had LOTS of advice. You guys are really special here at DU. While things can get a bit snarky on GD, when the chips are down, you really come through. I am still struggling (got drunk three times this week, and still feel depressed about the weight), I am going to put all of your good advice to work. Love and peace, muffin1:)

If you've ever ventured into R/T, I've probably pissed you off. But here, recovery is the most important thing and outside issues lose their importance. So yes, things can and do get snarky elsewhere but I think here we all try to focus on what is important.

baby steps you know. you didn't put the weight on in 2 weeks, you can't expect to take if off that fast either.
and maybe you can just learn to be comfortable as who you are too :hug:
maybe try to figure out what triggers you have for drinking and find other ways to deal with it?

I'm sorry to hear that you got drunk three times this past week. I hope you don't mind my asking but is there a pattern to your drinking? For example, do you drink when you are at home alone while watching tv? Or do you get drunk while with certain friends? If so, can you change the pattern, not associate with certain people or plan things for the evenings so you don't drink? I ask these questions because I think you have not yet lost control over drinking but are drinking to self-medicate your depression.
