| went back today, after about 7 years |

I was sober for about 5 years and stopped going to meetings. I didn't start drinking right away, but in time the insidious nature of alcohol took hold and spun my life out of control again. Without getting into the gory details, the shit hit it today and in the proverbial moment of sanity I dragged my ass to a Labor Day alc-a-thon. It really was a warm fuzzy feeling to be back and even though I know I only have today, I do believe I've learned a couple of things, one is the importance of meetings and another is that A.A. did indeed ruin my drinking.
