| 4. The weakness is the only way that we'll allow God's grace to enter our lives. |
|
It sucks at the ego level but of course is perfect in every other way.
I hope that all is well with you...

You've been beaten down both physically and mentally by this disease.
With time in recovery, you will feel better.

| 10. Self-hate and drama are the disease itself, not you. |
|
And although we are not there with you, each of us understands what you are going through and wish you the absolute best.

| 11. Well, in a strange sort of way we are. |
|
We're all addicts here, and that means that we know one another better than anyone else possibly could. I consider everyone here a friend of mine.
Saw your posts in R/T. Tomorrow is a new day. :pals:

| 12. We may not ever be able to be face to face friends |
|
But online friends are sure helpful when one cannot be face to face.
My online friendships really helped me get through last fall's wildfire season, when the Santiago Canyon Fire came within 1 mile of my house. I could be online and get support at hours that it would be rude to call people on the phone.

There are people on DU I "talk" to more frequently than I do some in RL. My computer's always here, but my other friends can be scattered by distance or obligations.
We're always here. It may not be as satisfying as talking face to face, but if you need a friend I think any of us in this group would want to listen. Finding a good home group helps a lot as well. I have a small core of women I can call and yell "Arrrgghhhhh!!!" when life gets a little overwhelming. Some of them can even offer physical assistance, such as a ride to a meeting when my car is in the shop.
And just as important is having people I can share the good times with as well. Some of the happiest times I can think of were shared with a bunch of other sober drunks.
