| 7. I try to make it to my home group every week . . . |
|
the same meeting I've attended since my first month of sobriety, twenty-one years ago. Realistically, I get there maybe three weeks every month, sometimes less.
Occasionally, I make a meeting at the invitation of a friend, but those times are rare. My sobriety isn't as dependent on meetings as it used to be; I do enjoy my friends, however, and the opportunity my home group affords me to be of service.
I golf with a few old timers when I get the opportunity, men who've shared my home group these many years, and often those are daylong meetings. We make a point of going out together with our wives, as well, some of whom are in the program too, but mainly we do this to celebrate life and enjoy each other's company. We attend plays and take in concerts, have dinner and sometimes spend the evening playing cards. At these times, we rarely talk program; we live it.

exactly!!
I try to go once a week in my little town, mostly to be of service and to get a reminder from the many court ordered attendees of my "yets"
but I think sometimes I come off as a babbling idiot when I speak, talking about the Grace I receive so often.
and talking about living the program must sound like an impossible ideal to newcomers
I know it did to me when I was new.......

| 9. I go about once a month anymore. |

Except during the week of my anniversary. Then I go every day, sometimes 2 or 3 meetings a day...as many as I can make.
