| Why getting to a meeting every day is imortant for me.. |
|
Why every day? Cause I used every day.
Because the thinking that caused the use and abuse sometimes...returns.] .... Negativity and fear. Self loathing and obsession about things I truly cannot change......(I think I should)
A meeting refreshes me and grounds me in thinking that leads to serenity and peace. .............Just One Day at a Time...Sometimes a Moment at a time.........

I'd say it was probably 6 or 7 years I went daily or at least 5 times a week. It was good to every day be around people who not only weren't using but people who USED to use and weren't using. As many of us know, getting clean's one thing and STAYING clean's another.
Do watcha gotta...

Days when I go to a meeting, I am better...Been going to twelve step meetings for over 28 years..Usually, my negative thinking gets to me almost every day.
I suppose, that I don't have to go, but I need to go, it keeps that negative, self defeating, ugly thinking in check for a while.. It is cunning, baffling, and powerful ...very powerful..
It is only trough deep faith in a power greater than me, and the strength renewed by being with, and listening to y fellows.. at each meeting that keeps me going..

EVERY DAY, and you, FOR TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS, I wondered if you realised what remarkable people your struggle against alcoholism, your struggle with yourself and your struggle to understand your battle and how to keep its "commanding heights", denying the enemy an advantage, had made you.
