| A student confided in me today and I am left wondering... |
|
A college student who has missed a bunch of classes came to talk to me today. He wound up in jail over Thanksgiving for possession (a lot). He dealt drugs in high school. Now he is back on campus and has been ordered to see a counselor. The counselor who he was told has expertise in working with people with who do drugs is not available until the 17th. I asked him if he was going to NA meetings - he said that he went to 12 Step meetings during and after rehab in high school, but that no one had suggested that to him since the most recent incident. After I mentioned the NA meetings he asked me if I thought he should call the counseling center back and ask for an appointment sooner than the 17th. I turned the question back to him and asked if he thought he needed an appointment sooner and he said yes and that he would call this afternoon. I am worried.
:(
My personal history: My father was an alcoholic and I attend Al Anon meetings.

| 1. Sounds to me like he's asking for help/hand-holding. |

Please do it if you can, until the 'designated one' gets involved.
Thanks
