Anyone here use Kratom to go off Opiates? |
|
I'm stepping down off my Poppy Tea use, so that the crash won't kill me. Down to just 1/2 a pod a day - so I'm doing it sucessfully.
I have heard good things about quitting using Kratom - anyone here try it? It is supposed to curb the (1) overactive brain chatter that goes along with Opiate WD and (2) depression.

1. I'm not familiar with it, Taverner. |
|
Hopefully someone here is.
Good luck to you!
Withdrawal can be a bitch!
But it can be done.

2. So far its working like a charm |
|
I'm slowly weaning myself off the opiates - down to 1/4 the size of the regular dose I used when I started - W00T!
Soon I'll be on just Kratom - and from what I heard the WD's of Kratom are far easier than that of my opiate-of-choice

3. Coming off oxycodones/MS Contin for the past five days... |
|
...after about seven years of being strung out. It's a damn good thing I'm not remotely suicidal or violent toward others. I can see how people would lash out -- if they could even find the energy to bother -- or just do themselves in.
During the three or four months around late 1970 when I was a heroin chipper I never had withdrawals anything like the severity this time 'round.
This time, it's no concentration level; can't read a short story, much less a book; no energy; extreme fatigue no matter how much sleep I get; neglecting personal hygiene. The whole sorry menu and a bunch more. Fortunately, no physical pain, but the mental stuff is way over the top.
So... has this Kratom actually alleviated some of this? Is it a health food store item? If not, where do you get some quickly? Mail order is way too slow for the purpose.
I"m in the Portland Oregon area if that helps.
Anyway, congratulations to you for plowing through the nightmare and seeing a glimmer of sun on the other side. I can't wait, myself.
Thanks for reading this incoherent screed.
Best of luck,
sf
