you do not pass Go, you go directly to detox. I'm home and feeling better than I thought I would ever feel again. I can walk--whenI went in the tremors were so bad...I couldn't. I start my Intensive Out Patient tomorrow 3hr/day 3x/wk. I will be visiting my local S.O.S Thursday evening. It's going to be a long road isn't it? Admiral Nelson can no longer be my best friend but Gatorade is getting more palatable every day. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts & support. Thanks, I'll be here all week! :hi: edited to add: tell me about Naltrexone.

The intake that you describe is par for the course --- congratulations on your willingness to accept help. You'll find as you start attending meetings that there are plenty of people who will be there for you. Best wishes, and stay the course!!! :-)

I've been where you are at, keep chugging the Gatorade (and nothing stronger) one day at a time. Best wishes for your recovery.

my last drink was a week ago today & I'm feeling good. Detox was a little shocking, but I'm sure glad I didn't try to do it at home. :hi:

5. It's good you went to detox |
|
A lovable older guy in my home group meeting talks about his home detox some 27 years ago and it is really scary sounding. It makes me grateful that appropriate facilities exist now.

I've detoxed in the hospital and on my own and I definitely recommend the former. Feeling that horrible has certainly been a deterrent for me. And I agree that One Day at a Time is the way to do it. I can handle just one day, not even thinking about tomorrow, and have managed to put together 469 of them, as of today. You can do it, if I can. Hang in there, go to meetings and keep in touch...

we're fortunate that we have decent insurance (with a hefty deductible) What do folks do who don't have that? Thanks for your support. Truly appreciated. :hugs:
