Went to the big AA convention in our town last weekend

It is likely the last time I will be going to that convention (which I have attended almost every year since 1981), since I will be moving out of the area.

It was a very bittersweet thing for me. The speakers were great, the fellowship was wonderful, but the grief for me at times was overwhelming. Even so, I felt wrapped in the love of the fellowship! I am so grateful for the feeling.

something else to look forward to in my new town with my new relaxed schedule.

Sometimes "feeling the feelings" *IS* bittersweet, but at least you can feel them now and know how to deal with them with out killing yourself slowly over it.

To be quite honest, the convention is held at a hotel less than 3 miles from where I live, so it is not hard to get to.

I know SoCal has some good AA, I hope there are some good conventions as well.

when are you moving? I bought a house yesterday 600 miles away and will be moving July 10th
