Pedometer Check-In Threads |
|
I would love for DU to start some type of accountability checks for those of us who are either trying to lose weight or are maintaining their current weight. One of the best ways that I've monitored my level activity is to wear a pedometer, which counts how many steps I am taking during a day.
I would love for others to join me and we could have a weekly pedometer check-in thread. There is a ton of information about how to increase your steps and how many steps are necessary to burn a reasonable amount of calories per week.
If walking is not your thing then perhaps we can just have a general exercise accountability thread where people can post what they are doing to burn off the calories.
If anyone is interested, please post to this thread and perhaps we can get started as soon as Monday, January 16.

E&F was first and when we asked Skinner for this group, some folks wondered why we couldn't just discuss our issues in that group since one's weight is related to one's physical fitness. My response was that not everyone over there has overweight issues and it can be a bit demoralizing to weed through posts from people asking how to gain weight or responding to our questions with such pat advice as, "Just eat less and exercise more." It's a simple and true answer but, as we all know, it ain't easy!
I participate in both groups and feel they meet my needs very well.

3. I appreciate the pedometer suggestion. |

I tried one last year but then ruined it when I forgot to take it off before I got in the hot tub. :(
They aren't expensive -- maybe I should get another one and add those steps to my other exercise. :hi:
