Just got my first email about my 20 year reunion! Time to get busy! |
|
Hi y'all! I don't think I have ever posted here, or if I did, it was back when it first started. I am very good at losing weight... I am also very good at putting it back on! I have lost 50 pounds and regained it twice each in the past 5 years. I'd really like to make a permanent change. I know my issues are with my brain, not my stomach. I'm a comfort food eater. I eat when I am happy, stressed, depressed, etc. I have ahd a year full of major changes, mostly good, but even good changes raise your stress levels. So, this year I have put back on a lot of what I lost the year before. I'd really like to drop 40 pounds. It would be nice to make a lot of progress before the reunion. I don't know when it will be yet. the first meeting is the end of this month, so I am hoping I have at least 8 weeks to make a dent in my goal. In addition, I just got scuba certified, and I find myself getting over-exerted when practicing skills. I know it would make diving a lot easier if I were in better shape.
The diet I do best on is pretty much like South Beach, sticking to whole grains, lots of fruits and veggies, and lean proteins. I've been very busy lately, so I have neglected to make exercise a priority. THAT needs to change.
So, I'll be seeing y'all around. Keep up the good work everyone! :hi:

It's a good idea for you to get your weight under control because, if you're like me, you'll find that it gets harder and harder to lose. I've been on a diet practically my entire adult life and I think my body has decided that I've tricked it too many times and it refuses to let go of weight. If I could do it over, I would incorporate more exercise into my life and do less dieting. That's what I'm doing now and it's slow going but I have no choice but to be patient.
It's great to have a goal to keep you motivated and I can't think of many better than a reunion! Good luck and let us know how you're doing! :hi:
